Chicagoans Joshua Condon and Eliza Weber have been Glyders since 2014, but Forever, technically their second album, marks their debut as a trio, with full-time drummer Joe Seger. The trio makes up for lost time, though, blending their Gram Parsons/Byrds/New Riders ballads with surprisingly souped-up scorchers, burned-out breakdowns and best Western boogies. At a time when cosmic country threatens to leave the galaxy entirely, Glyders return it to Earth, while still keeping an eye on the skies.
It’s one of those evenings. The air outside is frozen still, the forest cloaked in mist, and all sound feels far away — like the world is holding its breath. You step outside with a warm drink in hand, not to go anywhere, just to feel the silence wrap around you. The glow from the cabin behind casts a soft light on the snow. Nothing moves, except your thoughts. That’s where this mix begins — quiet, distant, slightly blurred like a memory you can’t place. Slowly, it draws you in. The downtempo tracks at the start unfold like fog: gentle, melodic, weightless. Over time, a few calm future garage pieces appear like footsteps in the snow — subtle, layered, a little closer to something you feel more than hear. This one’s meant for the in-between moments.
