Silent Disco Events Seattle - Seattle's Premier Silent Disco Headset Rental Company

I propose that, from now on, megacombo replaces the awful jargonistic term: sustainability. Because sustainability is the worst kind of word: a boring, technical term for a beautiful idea. Megacombo will better represent this idea, that …

AlphaTheta Release CDJ-1500X With Cloud DJing, Crowd Requests In A Compact Player Format

AlphaTheta’s new CDJ-1500X brings CDJ-3000X-style touchscreen workflow, built-in Wi-Fi, streaming access and CoBeat audience requests to smaller booths and mobile setups.

AlphaTheta has announced the CDJ-1500X, a new DJ multi-player designed for bars, small clubs, home studios and other spaces where booth size is limited.

The new unit is positioned below the company’s flagship CDJ-3000X while adopting several workflow features from that model.

Flagship Features In A Compact Format

The player weighs 3.6 kg and measures 252.1 × 374.7 × 116.5 mm, giving it a smaller footprint than a full-size club media player.

The CDJ-1500X includes a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, matching the screen size of the CDJ-3000X. Its browse view can display up to 15 tracks at once, while waveform previews, vocal position indicators, BPM change markers and phrase information are designed to help DJs read track structure more clearly during a set.

Playlist Edit allows users to rearrange tracks directly on the player, reducing the need to return to a laptop or mobile device during preparation or performance. The unit also includes dark and light display modes for use in different booth and lighting conditions.

Physical controls include eight Hot Cue buttons, a Beat Loop knob, Beat Sync, Beat Jump and a mid-size jog wheel with a rotation indicator and non-slip surface. Audio output is handled via RCA, while the front panel includes two USB ports — one USB-C and one USB-A — for connecting storage devices.

Wi-Fi, Streaming and NFC Login

A central part of the CDJ-1500X announcement is built-in Wi-Fi. The player supports rekordbox and CloudDirectPlay. StreamingDirectPlay compatibility is listed for Apple Music, Beatport Streaming and Tidal, subject to regional availability and subscription requirements.

The player also supports NFC touch login using a mobile device running rekordbox for iOS or Android. This allows users to access personal settings and playlists by tapping their device on the player.

CoBeat Introduces Optional Audience Requests

The CDJ-1500X is also the first AlphaTheta multi player announced with support for CoBeat, a new audience interaction service. Through a QR code, audience members can browse a pre-selected catalogue, vote for tracks or send song requests and messages. Requests appear on the player’s browse screen, while emoji reactions can appear on the DJ’s smartphone.

CoBeat is optional and can be turned on or off by the DJ. AlphaTheta says the CoBeat launch and the rekordbox for Mac/Windows update adding support are scheduled for 9 July 2026.

The CDJ-1500X is available now listed at £1,469 including VAT, €1,699 including VAT, and $1,599 excluding tax, with a separate US price of $1,699 excluding sales tax. Find out more.
