Kiviak Instruments has announced WoFi LE, a compact and lower-cost version of its sampling instrument featuring live sampling tools, Wi-Fi integration and expanded storage support. The original WoFi also receives a permanent price reduction.

Kiviak Instruments has announced WoFi LE, a new compact version of its WoFi sampling instrument aimed at musicians and producers looking for a more affordable entry point into the company’s ecosystem. The device is scheduled for release at the end of 2026 or early 2027, priced at $349 in the United States and €299 in Europe.

The Marseille-based manufacturer says WoFi LE has been designed as a standalone instrument rather than a simplified edition of the original WoFi. The hardware introduces several design changes, including a rubber keypad that also functions as a sequencer interface and the addition of a microSD card slot for expanded storage. The instrument will be available in black and white finishes.

A revised approach to the WoFi workflow

According to the company, WoFi LE retains the core sampling workflow of the original model, allowing users to record, chop and manipulate samples while sequences are playing. Samples can be swapped directly into patterns during performance, while cue points and “revision mode” features are intended to support live experimentation and fast switching between alternate sounds or arrangements.

The instrument also continues Kiviak’s cloud-focused approach through integration with the company’s myWoFi platform. Users can synchronise and share samples over Wi-Fi using the companion app.

While compact samplers remain a crowded category, WoFi LE enters the market at a time when manufacturers are increasingly focusing on portability and immediate hands-on workflows. Devices that combine sequencing, sampling and wireless integration have become more common in electronic music production, particularly among live performers and producers working in hybrid studio environments.

Kiviak appears to be positioning WoFi LE between entry-level grooveboxes and more specialised sampling instruments. The emphasis on live resampling and quick sample replacement aligns with broader trends in performance-oriented electronic hardware, where immediacy and improvisation are increasingly prioritised over menu-heavy workflows.

Original WoFi remains the flagship model

Kiviak says the original WoFi will continue as the company’s premium option within the range. Compared with the LE model, the flagship version includes additional hardware features such as a built-in battery, integrated speaker, memory cartridge system and a traditional keyboard layout.

Alongside the launch of WoFi LE, Kiviak has also reduced the price of the original WoFi. The instrument now costs $579 in the United States and €499 in Europe through the company’s website, down from its previous pricing of $729 in both regions.
