Dusty Springfield The BBC Sessions 2 Disc Vinyl Out November 8, 2024

Originally released on CD in 2007 and now available for the first time on vinyl as a 2LP set, Dusty, The BBC Sessions is released on 8th November.
A stunning collection of session recordings made by Dusty Springfield (and The Springfields) between 1962 – 1970, these tracks are taken from the remaining surviving archive session tapes and have been remastered and the album cut at Abbey Road Studios.
Available to pre-order this set includes three tracks recorded in July 1962 when Dusty was a member of The Springfields, a three piece that included her brother Tom Springfield and Tim Field. At this early part of her career Dusty was singing in a folk and country style before she shifted to – and nailed – her trademark ‘blue eyed soul’ pop sound of subsequent recordings.

Featured highlights on Dusty, The Complete BBC Sessions include a selection of her always immaculate covers including Stevie Wonder’s Uptight (Everything’s Alright), The Rascals’ Good Lovin’, Jackie Wilson’s R&B stomper Higher and Higher (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me), and the Bee Gees’ classic To Love Somebody. // Continue to the full article
