Finland’s Provinssi hails ‘best-ever’ edition
Finland’s Provinssi festival has set an all-time attendance record with its 2024 edition.
Over three days, the festival recorded its largest-ever attendance of 85,000, beating the previous record of 81,000 in 2011.
Måneskin, Turnstile, Bring Me The Horizon and Yungblud were among the international acts that performed at the 27–29 June event, in Seinäjoki, western Finland.
Local talent, meanwhile, included PMMP, Jenni Vartiainen and KUUMAA.
“A stunningly great weekend is behind us!” says festival director Ville Koivisto, who was appointed last year. “With the all-time attendance record, the smoothness of the entire event and the great gigs, this has been the best Provinssi ever!”
“This has been the best Provinssi ever”
Provinssi (Province) is one of the oldest festivals in Finland and one of the largest in Northern Europe. The event has been held on the island of Törnävänsaari in Seinäjoki every June since 1979.
Its previous headliners include Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rammstein, System Of A Down, Rage Against The Machine, Linkin Park, David Bowie, Muse, The Killers, Ellie Goulding, The Ramones, Blur Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Patti Smith, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, Massive Attack, The Cure and Queens Of The Stone Age.
Provinssi is organised and promoted by Seinäjoki Festivals Oy, which is owned by Selmu ry and Fullsteam Agency Oy (part of FKP Scorpio group).
Fullsteam Agency recently announced that one of its other Finnish festivals, Sideways, will not take place in its current form after 2024.
In a statement, organisers said that “making a festival that is ambitious in terms of content and service offering and larger in size is rewarding but challenging”.

Kygo’s Palm Tree Crew Reveals Plans for Miami Waterfront Hotel Experience
Palm Tree Crew, the visionary events company co-founded by Kygo and his manager Myles Shear, is aiming to disrupt Miami’s hospitality scene with a trailblazing new venture that redefines the nexus of lifestyle and entertainment.
Harmonizing the essence of music festival allure with the serenity of a beachfront escape, Palm Tree Crew is launching its first-ever waterfront hotel and restaurant, Palm Tree Club, in Miami’s North Bay Village. The ambitious project, a collaboration with Continuum Company, marks a significant foray for Palm Tree Crew, a proven global events organizer.
Transforming the established Shuckers Waterfront Grill & Hotel, Palm Tree Club will infuse the location with a new sense of vibrant tropical charm and exquisite coastal dining, all set to the rhythm of handpicked musical events.
“We are incredibly excited to launch our first restaurant and hotel in North Bay Village, Miami, a city that embodies the spirit of Palm Tree Crew,” said Shear. “We’ve admired Shuckers for a long time as a staple of the Miami hospitality ecosystem, and we feel privileged to partner with Continuum Company to bring this property into its next chapter.”
Auds & Ends
Shuckers boasts a stunning waterfront restaurant, 20-slip marina offering dine-and-dock services, 118 elegantly designed guest suites and a pool that seamlessly bridges the restaurant and hotel, capturing the joyful yet relaxed essence of Palm Tree Crew’s vision.
“When we started building Palm Tree Crew four years ago, our vision was to produce unique experiences around the world centered on music and the highest level of hospitality,” added Michael Diaz, CEO of Palm Tree Crew. “It has been thrilling to curate a lifestyle platform for our customers through live events and festivals, and we’ve found our audience craving more, which is what inspired this expansion into hospitality.”
“It’s a natural evolution of our brand, and we can’t wait to introduce hospitality projects that deliver these same experiences and curated entertainment year-round.”

Mel C thinks the Spice Girls would be a “belting headliner” for Glastonbury
Mel C has said it would be her “absolute dream” to headline Glastonbury with the Spice Girls.

Sporty Spice appeared on the Chris Moyles Show on Radio X this morning live from Worthy Farm, where she opened up about the possibility on performing at the festival herself.
“Well, it would be quite nice to do it on my own, wouldn’t it?,” she told Moyles. “I might have some new music out. Well, I will have some new music out next year.”
She added that though she has DJ’ed in 2022 at the festival before and played at the Avalon Stage last year with her band, she’s eyeing the top slot at the Pyramid Stage. Though she initially said there was “room for both” her own solo performance and a reunion, she went on to say “there’s nothing I would like more” than a headlining slot with the Spice Girls.
“I think the absolute ultimate would be to do it with the Spice Girls,” she confessed. “There’s nothing I would like more. But you know, while they’re still making their minds up…”
Noting the Spice Girls have never played the legendary festival as “in the 90s, they didn’t have pop music at music festivals”, Mel C responded to Moyle’s sly suggestion for a top slot for next year’s edition: “It would be a belting headliner.”

Many fans believed that Spice Girls would perform in the Legends’ slot at Glastonbury 2023 after Mel B alluded to it on The Big Narstie Show. Mel C then shut the rumours down, saying it didn’t work logistically for the group.
However, Mel C did make a surprise appearance with Orbital and Tilda Swinton as a special guest. She performed her track with Orbital ‘Spicy’ which samples tracks from the Spice Girls‘ discography including their hit song ‘Wannabe’.
The former girl group were last seen giving a surprise performance of their 1998 single ‘Stop’ at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party in April, and the event led many to speculate that a comeback could be happening.
However, Victoria’s husband David shut down any potential rumours of a reunion, saying: “Unfortunately, that’s not happening.”
“Victoria was so pleased to see the girls, and it was a massive part of her life, but obviously, all the girls have got their own things going on,” he continued. “They will do certain things together at certain times.”
He continued: “I know it’s what people want, but in all honesty, I think I was the most excited of anyone.”
In other news, Emily Eavis has confirmed Glastonbury will have fallow year in 2026. “We’re already in talks with some acts” for 2025, she added.
