Splash House Reveals Double Weekend Lineups For 2024 Edition

Splash House has announced the complete lineup for its August 2024 double weekenders. For over a decade, Splash House has crafted an idyllic summer festival experience in the heart of Palm Springs complete with forward-thinking music curation, a devoted fan community, and boutique resort amenities. The party returns August 9-11 and August 16-18 to take over the storied poolside locales of The Renaissance, Margaritaville, and Saguaro Hotels.

This year, Splash House returns its focus to its famed double August weekend series, a back-to-back session that has been celebrated by devotées of the brand and newcomers alike. Renowned for its progressive approach to curation, both weekends will present distinct lineups showcasing a diverse array of international tastemakers, spanning established veterans to next generation’s rising talent.

Weekend One highlights include a special BODY HI by Alesso set from the Electronic titan, Dance music stalwarts Gorgon City B2B Green Velvet, French House icon HUGEL, UK Tech House duo Solardo, unifying Dance figure The Blessed Madonna, multifaceted LA-based artist BIIANCO, and multi-instrumentalist TSHA. Additional highlights include in-demand collaborator and Platinum-certified producer NITTI, breakout next-generation risers Odd Mob & OMNOM: HYPERBEAM, and prolific Brazilian producer Bruno Furlan.

Weekend Two enlists Night Bass head AC Slater, Italy’s MEDUZA, UK tastemaker Patrick Topping, Bass House icon Chris Lorenzo, British singer-songwriter and producer SG Lewis, and Sweden’s Salvatore Ganacci. The billing expands with the genre-bending Dr. Fresch, acclaimed producer BIJOU, Scotland’s Ewan McVicar, the newly formed duo girl math from eclectic House favorites NALA & VNSSA, and rising UK star Riordan.

Bill Wyman Announces First New LP Since 2015, Details Covers-Heavy ‘Drive My Car’

Bill Wyman has announced his ninth studio album, Drive My Car, set for release on August 9. The album will mark Wyman’s first LP since 2015 and promises a sonic blend of Anglo-Americana rhythm and blues that will include both covers and original songs penned by Wyman. The 10-track album will be available digitally as well as on CD and vinyl, with two additional bonus tracks available on digital and CD formats of the LP. To preview the forthcoming set, Wyman has released the title track, “Drive My Car,” with an accompanying lyric video. Watch below.

Drive My Car will be the ninth solo album from the legendary bassist and founding member of The Rolling Stones. With a career spanning over six decades, the new album aims to showcase Wyman’s unwavering musicianship and passion for creating and collaborating. Five of the 10 album tracks and two bonus tracks are self-written, with Wyman expressing, “It’s not something I do every day, but sometimes I just see a guitar in the corner of the room, pick it up to play around and then something clicks into place.” The new album was recorded at Wyman’s home studio with long-time collaborators such as guitarist Terry Taylor and drummer Paul Beavis. Wyman emphasizes the importance of good musical chemistry and collaboration, saying, “A bass player and a drummer are a team, you’re the rhythm section, the foundation of the whole thing.” 

The LP includes seven covers from inspirations and longtime friends of Wyman’s as well as a new inspiration for the musician. Among these covers is Bob Dylan’s “Thunder On The Mountain,” the album opener, which pulls inspiration from Dylan’s original rendition and Wanda Jackson’s cover. The album covers also features Taj Mahal’s “Light Rain” and a country tribute to John Prine’s “Ain’t Hurtin’ Nobody.” In addition to covering close friends, Wyman has also included two covers of songs by Dutch guitarist Hans Theesink, who Wyman mentioned via a press release, “I find his stuff really inspiring; he brings something new to the blues.”

jxdn unpacks the songs that inspired his second album, WHEN THE MUSIC STOPS

jxdn (aka Jaden Hossler) wasn’t old enough to witness pop punk bleed into the mainstream throughout the 2000s, but the musician evokes the same heart-on-sleeve lyricism that defined that era — and made it unforgettable for so many. That approach has led to a series of staggering achievements — reaching gold status, garnering countless streams, and collaborating with his heroes, to name a few — but at the end of the day, jxdn has always used music as an escape. Now, he’s ready to make a deeper mark with his second album, WHEN THE MUSIC STOPS, which arrives this Friday (June 28) on Travis Barker’s DTA Records. From having his eyes opened by the Strokes’ Is This It to finding solace in the wounded heaviness of Deftones, jxdn falls back on all of the music that shaped him while inspiring those around him to “keep holding on to tomorrow.”

Ahead of its release, jxdn took us through the alternative influences that defined his sophomore album.

Deftones – “Sextape”

Listening to this song was one of my only moments of release during a dark time in my life.

The Strokes – “Is This It”

This song and album opened my eyes to what seems to be a clear path for me. I’m grateful to the Strokes for their music.

EKKSTACY – “i just want to hide my face”

One of the first songs I heard from EKKSTACY and made me really fall in love with indie rock as a whole. That eventually turned into a common theme throughout the album.

The Verve – “The Drugs Don’t Work”

I was in a session with some lovely people, and they showed me this song. The phrase alone inspired me, but then I was super moved by the whole concept of the song. This helped inspire my track “Drugs.” 

KennyHoopla – “smoke break” (feat. Travis Barker)

This song and the entire Survivor’s Guilt mixtape represent a specific time period in my life that I reflect on a lot in this project.

Deftones – “Cherry Waves”

This track inspired a constant theme of an “out-of-body experience” throughout my upcoming project.

blink-182 – “Anthem Part Two”

blink as a whole inspired many tracks on this album. This just happens to be one of my favorites.

The Killers – “Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll”

This is my favorite song on the album Hot Fuss. I love the Killers so much. Something about their music makes my body feel. I wanted to add whatever that was to this album.

Dag Nasty – “Can I Say”

A direct inspiration for my track “It Must Suck To Know You.” Travis showed me this song on a random studio day. I was convinced. 

Johnny Cash – “Hurt”

One of the greatest covers of all time. A big inspiration for all my acoustic tracks. There is power in the simple.

Travis Kelce calls Prince William “the coolest motherfucker” after Wembley meeting

Travis Kelce has recounted his experience meeting Prince William at one of Taylor Swift‘s ‘Eras’ tour concerts at Wembley Stadium this past weekend – see what Kelce had to say below.

This past weekend, Prince William celebrated his 42nd birthday at the first of her three sold-out shows at Wembley (June 21). Before the show kicked off, Kelce, his brother Jason and Taylor Swift met Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte backstage.

On the latest episode of Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast, the brothers reflected on what it was like to meet the Royals. Travis Kelce started off on the topic by saying: “We met royalty, guys. There was royalty at the show, I was fortunate enough that I didn’t get caught up in traffic long enough to where I got there early and got to meet Prince William.”

He continued: “Dude, he was the coolest motherfucker. He was so cool.”

The two brothers then spoke about being unsure if they should bow when meeting Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte: “They were an absolute delight to meet. Wasn’t sure if I was supposed to bow to them, curtsy, just be an American idiot and shake their hand… We wanted to be polite, especially on this side of the park.”

While they enjoyed meeting Prince William, the Kelce brothers agreed that meeting Princess Charlotte was the highlight of the entire experience. “Prince William was fantastic, but the highlight was Princess Charlotte,” Jason Kelce said. “She was so fucking adorable. She had fire to her. She was asking questions.”

Travis agreed: “She was a superstar. She was awesome. I love it when parents ask their kids to be present, be vocal — such a good parent move. Let them feel comfortable talking to people. If anyone’s doing it right, Prince William’s doing it right.”

During the Wembley show, Prince William was seen dancing along to ‘Shake It Off’. After the show, Swift shared a birthday post in honour of Prince William, writing: “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start”. The post was accompanied by a selfie featuring Swift, Prince William, George, Charlotte and Travis Kelce.

This wasn’t the first time that Prince William and Taylor Swift have met. In 2013, the two shared the stage with Jon Bon Jovi at a charity event at Kensington Palace, where the trio performed ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’.

The Edinburgh date of the ‘Eras’ tour received a five-star review from NME, with Hannah Mylrea writing: “Despite being an arena show, in a huge, cavernous venue, Swift and her fans have managed to cultivate a community. This is a marvel of a show that comes with a beating heart.”
