On December 12, Warren Haynes Presents: The Christmas Jam will return to Asheville, NC’s ExploreAsheville.com Arena. The one-night-only concert, held in Haynes’ hometown, will benefit the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity and BeLoved Asheville. This will be the 34th year Haynes hosts the special, multi-band show.

A tradition dating back to the guitarist’ club days, Christmas Jam returned in 2022 for the first time since 2018 and has once again become an annual event. In 2024, the show did not take place due to devastating effects of Hurricane Helene, but Haynes quickly put together the Soulshine benefit at New York’s Madison Square Garden to provide aid to the area. Christmas Jam returned to Asheville last year, boasting Stone Temple Pilots, Warren Haynes & Friend, MJ Lenderman & The Wind, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, and a tribute to Phil Lesh. This year’s lineup will be confirmed this fall.

Haynes released the new live album, Dreams & Songs: A Symphonic Journey earlier today. The orchestral set was co-produced by Don Was.

The Avett Brothers are currently making their way down the East Coast for a run of headlining shows. Last night, the North Carolina-bred act performed at New Haven, CT’s Westville Music Bowl. Guster opened the night and, at the top of their encore, The Avett Brothers busted out their take on The Cranberries’ ’90s classic “Linger” for the first time since February 2, 2018.

According to Setlist.fm, The Avett Brothers debuted the tune just two songs into their show at Louisville, KY’s Louisville Palace Theatre on January 20, 2018, just five days after Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan died from accidental drowning due to alcohol intoxication at the age of 46. The Avett Brothers’ February 2 take on the song less than two weeks later, which took place during their Avett Brothers At The Beach event in Mexico, was the only other known time they played the emotive cover.

The Avett Brothers and Guster will perform at Vienna, VA’s Wolf Trap this evening. The Avetts also recently announced that they will return to Asheville, NC for New Year’s Eve.
