Fiona-Lee – To Make Me Feel Good

Taken from her newly announced debut EP ‘Nothing Compares To Nineteen, set for release March 7th via Gravity / Capitol Records, Fiona-Lee shares her brand new single ‘To Make Me Feel Good’, following its BBC 6 Music Steve Lamacq premiere. Filled with euphoric crescendos and catchy lyrics it serves as a brilliant introduction to the year ahead and further taster for the new EP. Speaking ahead of its release, the indie sensation added: “I wrote ‘To Make Me Feel Good’ when I was going through a hard time with my body image. It’s a song about the idea that you shouldn’t need someone else to make you feel like you’re enough as you are. I think it’s even worse for young people now because it’s so easy to compare yourself to others online, and I think many of us search for validation through social media and romantic partners – even if they’re not the right people for us.  So ‘To Make Me Feel Good’ is about acknowledging how reliant we can be on that and saying maybe it’s not so good for us – as well as generally questioning the amount of importance and pressure that’s actually put on ‘being beautiful’ nowadays.” Take a listen for yourselves below.

Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante, Legend, Plays Along After Being Mistaken For Poppy At The Grammys

Spiritbox frontwoman Courtney LaPlante has turned an epic fail of an interview on the 2025 Grammys red carpet into a hilariously entertaining moment, after the interviewer mistook her for her fellow Best Metal Performance Grammy Award nominee, Poppy. The original YouTube clip has since been wiped from the internet (likely out of embarrassment), but plenty […]

Contemporary Chaos Meets Nostalgic Catharsis in Messy Mike’s Indie Pop Single, ‘Things Are Crazy’

Messy Mike’s seminal release, Things Are Crazy, stands as both a nostalgic ode and a present-day lament, perfectly capturing the surreal chaos of modern existence and juxtaposing it against the perceived simplicity of the past. Now available on all major streaming platforms, this indie pop gem offers a bittersweet sanctuary, with its shimmering 60s-inspired organ tones and warm timbered production conjuring a world of comforting familiarity amidst the absurdity of today. The single’s retro charm is matched by its lyrical poignancy, as Messy Mike croons his way through an earnest exploration of the collective disarray we’ve all come to recognise. The track anchors itself in the past, not to escape but to reflect, offering a cathartic salve for those struggling to reconcile inner turmoil with the madness of the world outside. Miguel Nicolau, better known as Messy Mike, channels a raw vulnerability into his work. A drummer for the folk band The Town Bar, Nicolau created his moniker while in Poland, choosing “Messy” to encapsulate his creative aura and ethos. Songwriting, for him, isn’t a casual pastime but an existential necessity—a way to confront his demons and find peace. His honesty permeates every note, ensuring his listeners feel less alone in […]
