Hart’s hard science skills express emotion-evoking euphoric vibes both dancefloor-ready and perfect for immersive listening: ‘A big thing for me on this record is balancing the more mechanical and technical side of my music with the heart and euphoria.’
The 12-track album ‘Come In Out Of The Rain’ is an ‘emotional garage record’ journeying through cinematic uplifting synths and moments of fragility enriched with obscure processed vocal samples. It includes new lead track ‘Fucking Mega’, six other new tracks plus previous Double Six singles ‘NoMoreLuv4U’, ‘Hear Ur Heartbeat’, ‘Just Belong’, ‘Closer To You’ and ‘Love U Bring’.
‘I wanted it to sound like the melodies are floating but with a gritty and mechanical undercurrent. It’s a very sincere record, there’s this elevation and euphoria which echoes me truly accepting myself. I want the music to bring people together on the dancefloor and build a sense of community. I really feel that I’ve achieved what I set out to do.’
Lead track ‘Fucking Mega’: a yearningly sweet effected vocal floats in and out of breakbeat percussion as a rhythmic synth emerges, before suddenly dialling up the energy with hard-hitting drums, flights of stuttered lead notes and fierce electronic FX. Melodic synth chords carry the upbeat, emotional strand as a male vocal passionately recounts his clubbing days as ‘fucking mega’, a term of whole-hearted approval which the track, and LP, will surely evoke.
To celebrate the album release, Lawrence Hart will play live at Corsica Studios on 23rd April alongside yet to be announced friends/guests. Tickets available HERE.
Tech wizard Hart, with science DNA from his renowned computer pioneer grandfather Geoff Tootill, trained as a classical musician as a child. At fifteen, he auditioned at some of New York’s most prestigious music schools, going on to study jazz trumpet at SUNY Purchase with famous exponents, playing at some of New York’s most esteemed jazz clubs alongside greats like Bob Mover (who worked w. Charlie Mingus and Chet Baker). Then Hart discovered electronic music and clubbing…
He developed his production skills while working with regular collaborator, friend and fellow Double Six/Domino artist George FitzGerald. Hart has also released solo singles, EPs and remixes on Hotflush, Attack Decay Sweet Release, LG105, & his own SSEM label.
