NSW indie-pop favourites GRXCE have just dropped the motherload. As well as releasing their long-awaited debut EP, Sorry For Being Sad, earlier this month, the quartet have also just announced a forthcoming self-produced short film and a national headline tour to boot.

Produced and mixed with Fletcher Matthews (The Buoys, Dear Seattle), Sorry For Being Sad is an indie-pop opus of “sad music you can dance to”, filled with honest lyricism, lush production and an engrossing conceptual storyline.

GRXCE – Sorry For Being Sad

“Sorry For Being Sad is a conceptual journey following my experience navigating my early twenties,” vocalist Jamila Grace explains in a press statement. “It’s a coming of age story starting from when I moved 7 hrs away from my regional hometown of Corindi Beach to experiencing my first break-up and first mental health diagnosis with anxiety.”

She continues: “It centres heavily around how my anxiety diagnosis impacted experiences in love, friendship and growing up. It has been a super reflective process and really feels like a full circle experience.”

Behind the scenes, GRXCE have also been working on a short film that’s set to follow the EP’s release. Created and conceptualised by writer/director Sinead Campion, the Sorry For Being Sad film will be out just before the band kick off their national tour this August.

Said tour will see the band visit three East Coast states over eight shows, hitting stages in Melbourne, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Sydney and Port Macquarie.
