After a three-year hiatus, the Queensland event situated by a cultural icon, the Big Pineapple Music Festival, will return with a wicked line-up this year.
The one-day event will occur on Saturday, 19 October, with a line-up packed with Australian talent. Headliners include heavy music icons The Amity Affliction, popstar Tones & I—returning to the festival for the first time in five years—hip-hop trio Bliss n Eso, electronic producer Golden Features, singer-songwriter Vera Blue, and electronic pop duo Peking Duk.
The rest of the line-up is also stacked, featuring the likes of Thornhill, Dune Rats delivering a DJ set, Slumberjack, Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers, South Summit, Ocean Grove, and more. You can check out the full line-up below.
In addition to music, Big Pineapple is offering interactive competitions and activities, such as the annual Best Dressed At The Fest competition, BPF Skate Jam, the debut performance by Burlesque L’amour, and the return of The Great Australian Pineapple Toss competition.
You can now sign up for pre-sale tickets before the pre-sale opens on Wednesday, 10 July, at 8 am AEST. General sale tickets will be sold at 8 am AEST on Thursday, 11 July. You can find more ticketing details on the Big Pineapple music festival website.
The festival is also offering camping (which does not include a festival ticket) for those who want to spend two nights at the Pineapple Fields site.
In a statement, Michael Healy, Minister for Tourism and Sport, said of this year’s Big Pineapple Music Festival: “It’s great to see the iconic and multi-award-winning Big Pineapple Festival return to Queensland’s events calendar in 2024.
“The Queensland Government is proud to support the festival as part of our commitment to a strong local events program, particularly at a time when the sector has been struggling. The festival also provides Queensland and Australian acts the opportunity to perform at the iconic Big Pineapple Fields on the Sunshine Coast, helping also to sustain artists and the local supply chains”.
Sunshine Coast Mayor Rosanna Natoli added: “This is a spectacular event and drawcard for festivalgoers to come to the Sunshine Coast.”
Back in April, Joshua Taylor-Anderson, CEO and founder of music marketing company Call And Response (and Artist Manager at Combined Management), confirmed that Big Pineapple Music Festival would return this year – its first event since May 2021.
In The Music’s review of the event in 2019, writer Carley Hall declared that “Big Pineapple Festival feels like it’s found a solid place on the festival circuit, enjoying sold-out success due to big-name line-ups and a small but fuss-free set-up north of Brisbane.”
