Tim Minchin Announces 'A Conversation With' Australian Tour

It seems like Tim Minchin can’t get enough of life on the road, announcing an “A Conversation With” tour of Australia and New Zealand just months after his “An Unfunny Evening” tour wrapped up.

The acclaimed musician, writer, comedian, and actor will perform shows throughout September and October in support of his first nonfiction book, You Don’t Have To Have A Dream.

Starting the tour at Perth’s Concert Hall (29 September), Minchin will then perform at the Adelaide Festival Theatre (1 October), Melbourne’s Hamer Hall (4 October), Brisbane’s QPAC Concert Hall (5 October), Sydney State Theatre (6 October), Hobart’s Wrest Point (13 October), and finish the run at Auckland’s Kiri Te Kanawa on Wednesday, 16 October.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale via Minchin and the promoters, Fane, websites from 10 am local time tomorrow (18 June). The venue pre-sale starts at 10 am local time on Wednesday, 19 June, and the general sale opens at 10 am on Thursday, 20 June. You can find more ticketing information on the Fane website.

During the tour, Minchin will be joined by yet-to-be-announced special guest interviewers and share his thoughts on art, life, success, kindness, love and finding success.

Minchin said about the tour, “Although I’m a bit nervous to be sitting on a stage without a piano to sugar the pill of my opinions with, I’m really excited to dig deeper into some of the ideas I explore in this book. And, knowing the calibre of my interlocutors and my audiences, I’m sure the chat will push out beyond just those!”

You Don’t Have To Have A Dream: Advice For The Incrementally Ambitious will be released on Tuesday, 10 September and has been described as the book for the “science-loving reality-romantic in all of us”. You can pre-order the book here.
