Yesterday (July 23), XG dropped the performance video for ‘Undefeated’, a single they released in April in collaboration with video game Valorant. The song was commissioned for the Valorant Champions Tour Pacific, and was recently performed live for the first time at the VCT Pacific Opening Ceremony on July 22.
The ‘Undefeated’ performance video showcases the song’s long-awaited choreography. “Undefeated, uh huh / That’s why they call me undisputed, uh huh / I’m ranking up another season / I been about my stats, now would you look at that,” they chant on the hook.
Shortly after the release of the ‘Undefeated’ performance video, the band also announced new details for their upcoming sophomore mini-album earlier today (July 24). The record was first announced on July 8 via a cryptic visual teaser, however new details unveiled today revealed that the album will be out in its entirety on November 8.
“When a new presence emerges, it can stir feelings of both fear and curiosity. In embracing the new, people go through a psychological journey of experiencing ‘awe’,” a description on their official website reads. “XG’s second mini-album is designed to evoke this sense of awe, offering a unique experience that seamlessly integrates XG’s music into everyday life.”
In the lead-up to the new album, XG have previously announced the forthcoming release of pre-release single ‘Something Ain’t Right’ later this week on July 26 alongside its accompanying music video. However, other specifics such as the album title and tracklist have yet to be announced..
In other XG news, the group are currently in the midst of their first-ever world tour, called ‘The First Howl’. They have concluded their first handful of shows in Japan, Singapore and Taipei and are set to continue their Asian, European and North American legs for the rest of the year.
