Meadowfest was created in memory of Meadow Goodman, a 15-year-old Austin student and aspiring musician who died in 2023 after struggling with mental illness. Her father, local musician Greg Goodman, and her family created the Meadow E. Goodman Foundation for Mental Health Awareness and Meadowfest as a way to celebrate her life through music while reducing stigma around mental health and suicide.
