The new collaborative project that teams GA-20 with Charlie Musselwhite has released it’s much-anticipated new album. New West Records has issued Blues Now which was produced by the band’s Matthew Stubbs. Musselwhite’s mastery of the harmonica and his vocal artistry are a perfect complement to GA-20’s affinity for timeless blues expressions.
In conjunction with the album release, the four musician have released a video for “Cristo Redentor” from Blues Now. Stubbs says “Although Musselwhite didn’t write it, this is Charlie’s signature song and has become a modern blues classic. His virtuosic playing changed the profile of blues harmonica and it’s a fitting tribute to close out this album with our interpretation, in tandem with Cody Nilsen’s ethereal lap steel.”
Tomorrow, GA-20 will make their television debut on CBS Saturday Morning joined by Musselwhite. GA-20 will then take to the road for an extended tour. The group’s complete tour itinerary appears beneath the video.
